Description

The clouds gather as the dark mountain stands brooding in the distance. Is that a reflection caught in the water in front of it? Or is it just your imagination willing it to be so? What do you see? Is it a mountain or is it a citadel? Take your time. Ponder. Only you can decide.

Being an intuitive painter I never know what will turn up when I step up to the easel. Recently mountains have been coming through. To me the inspiration is coming from the mountains of Berchtesgaden in Germany. My dad grew up there having been a refugee during the second world war. I never visited there until after he died. But I was so struck by the mountains. They felt like a great big hug surrounding me.
